VAULT Festival - 2014

I was very excited last week to be given the chance to return to a place where my passion for all things theatre and events began.  At University there was more chance of finding me behind a theatre lighting desk than in the library with my books!  So I was thrilled to be asked to operate the lights for one of the shows at this year’s VAULT Festival in Waterloo - on a classic Strand 530i desk no less!

For someone who usually raves about the bright lights and big budget productions of the West End, the Festival was an eye opening experience and one that allowed me to witness some truly magical and innovative performances in one of London’s most unique, underground venues.

Headlined by Fear & Loathing in Las Vagas, a ‘madcap adventure to find the heart of the American Dream’ and an adaptation of Ian McEwan’s The Cement Garden the festival boasts six weeks of the most diverse, thought provoking live entertainment out there supplemented with free live music, comedy and a series of LATES – parties to suit all tastes.

It was fantastic to help out with a new contemporary theatre company at a venue that we all love at Rouge HQ. The Vaults is an incredible space, full of intrigue and possibilities.  If you are looking for a flexible venue for your event you should definitely check it out.  The Vaults Festival is running until 8th March – the perfect opportunity to see the venue in action.
