Channel 4 were planning an immersive press event to launch their exciting new comedy series The Curse, starring Tom Davis, James De Frond, Steve Stamp, Allan Mustafa and Hugo Chegwin. Set in London in the early 80’s, this comedy caper follows a gang of hopeless small time crooks who through their own stupidity and poor judgement find themselves embroiled in one of the biggest gold heists in history.
The event took place in a renovated railway arch underneath Waterloo station. In attendance were press, influencers and stakeholders and we were asked to help create a fun, tongue in cheek immersive experience that reflects 80’s gangster London.
We were able to use props from the show including a vintage Bentley, the get-away van and plenty of gold bullion. The heist was planned in a snooker hall so we bought in a full size snooker table. Guests were greeted by our hulking East End doorman who along with all the waiting and bar staff were dressed in boiler suits and beanie hats. Guest tucked into bacon and sausage butties from our East End cafe whilst our DJ spun cool 80's tunes.
